Account Executives are responsible for placement and technical management of client accounts. They build strong client relationships by working closely with the Client Executive and oversee services provided by other agency departments, with the support of the Account Manager. They do all this while representing our agency in a manner consistent with our Core Values, while making Kapnick the best in our business.
Risk Management & Surety Services Provide exceptional advice and counsel Advanced level technical product knowledge, coverage, and financial interpretation Engage in Risk and Surety Architecture (Program Design) understanding all aspects of the fundamentals of risk management and surety, applying those principles to the benefit of our clients Review and update client’s operations, financials, and exposure to risk. Gather needed information to service surety accounts and for renewal commercial surety accounts Analyze rating basis financials and classifications Monitor claims and financial data, loss information and histories on assigned accounts Understand and recommend risk control measures and behavior modification programs driving utilization of our Kapnick Risk Solutions Reviewing contracts, leases, indemnities and other agreements providing proper risk transfer solutions Due diligence support for mergers and acquisitions Engage in claims dispute analysis and advocacy assisting in detail coverage reviews and resolution recommendations
Insurance & Surety Brokering Provide Clients the best value for their insurance and surety dollars spent Market submissions to carriers to obtain the best insurance and surety program for the client’s needs Primary negotiator and relationship builder with carrier underwriting and management staff Provide proper insurance and surety program benchmarking regarding rates, limits, capacity, indemnification, and applicability of coverage In conjunction with service team, assist in the preparation of proposals, supporting sales pieces information and analysis to assist the Client Executive to write, service and renew assigned accounts Underwrite and price accounts for which we have underwriting authority following rules, limitations and policies set for by the carrier Communicate with Client Executive and service team the placement strategy at the beginning and throughout the placement process Communication with carriers to understand their goal and objectives and how they will impact our clients Keep informed of carriers’ websites and bulletins Assist in identifying marketing niches and develop products to promote agency growth and production
Client Servicing Provide overall account direction to the service team Promptly respond to client and service team members requests Communicate to the service team information about the client including buying styles, expectations, problems, concerns and other relevant knowledge to assure a consistently higher level of service Accept responsibility for significant problems on current accounts, working with team members to develop solutions and communicate these to our clients in a manner consistent with our Core Values Perform high level client advocacy service support Prepare premium allocations
Continual Learning Take an active interest in becoming an Industry or Risk Practice Specialist in one or two given areas sharing your knowledge for the betterment of the Kapnick organizations Maintain technical insurance skills and product knowledge, satisfying continuing education and licensing requirements and position yourself professionally to be the most effective Account Executive in your market Pursue a program for personal and professional development Attend and participate in departmental meetings, team meetings, peer reviews and training sessions as required
Other Other innovation and process improvements where possible to help with agency wide improvements and efficiencies Maintain files accurately and consistently using EPIC. Review discrepancies after policy checking Monitor and manage voice mail, incoming mailboxes, outlook and activities, per agency guidelines Act as back-up for other Account Executives when needed Perform your job in such a manner that other employees will consider it a pleasure and privilege to work with you Perform other duties as assigned
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree: Preferred
Experience: 5 + years of experience in the insurance industry
Prior experience in insurance company underwriting or risk management is desirable
Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook
Other Requirements: Industry specific designations such as (CPCU, CIC, AU, CRM, etc.) or professional designation (JD, CPA, etc.)
